Air Cadet Squadron 

We are a fast moving and action packed youth organisation for young men and women between 13 and 18 years of age.  The Cadets have the opportunity of undertaking flying, gliding, shooting, adventurous training, Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, visits to RAF stations and sport amongst many activities.  We parade on East Camp at RAF St. Athan on Monday & Wednesday evening 7 - 9.30pm.  Sqn Tel No 797189


Alkido Classes 
AIKIDO - Llantrisant Ki Society holds an Aikido class on Thursdays in the Minstrel Room above Halcyon Daze, opposite Ye Olde Masons Arms, Cowbridge. The class is held between 12 and 2.00 pm., and the cost is £3 per hour. Our study includes Kenkodo - Way of Health, as well as Aikido, which explores the resolution of conflict through harmony. Anyone, whatever size, shape, age etc. may practice. Each individual can improve their fitness, confidence, ability to relax etc. and enjoy the experience. Axis Historical Society - Barry South Wales

Axis Historical Society, Local History for Barry South Wales, is a registered charity. no. 1052998. we were formed in 1993, with the aim of preserving the history of Barry by way of photographs, documents and artifacts. We collect and preserve anything and everything that is to do with the history of Barry and surrounding area. To that aim. We have launched two new web sites.

Baby Signing - Cowbridge United Free church 

Baby signing is amazing, it means that babies as young as 6 months can communicate with you by using sign language. Our classes welcome babies from newborn to 2 years and through singing, playing with instruments and signing they learn to communicate before they can talk. It’s lots of fun and can help with development, as well as being a social activity for the parents – we have a structured 30 min lesson then there is free tea, coffee and biscuits afterwards. Barry Sea Cadets

Barry Sea Cadets offer a range of activities such as shooting, drill, first aid, marine engineering, seamanship, sailing, power boating, swimming, football to name just a few. Unit training is based around the District / Area / National Training programme of events and competitions giving youngsters the opportunity to attend courses on Royal Naval bases.

The Sea Cadet Corps is a nationwide voluntary uniformed youth organisation, open to young people between the ages of 10 – 18years, regardless of sex, religion or race, and within the bounds of safety to themselves and others, to those with special needs.

The aim of the Sea Cadet Corps is to help young people towards responsible adulthood by encouraging valuable personal attributes and high standards of conduct, using a nautical theme based on the customs of the Royal Navy.

Cowbridge Local History  Room

Open Wednesdays 10 - 12 in term-time (and when the Old Hall Adult Education Centre is open).

This small, bright room on the ground floor of Old Hall has been set up between Cowbridge Record Society and the Local History Society to house photographs and all manner of documents relating to the history of the town and surrounding area, including the buildings and the people who have lived here. Most of the archives have been gathered over many years by Jeff Alden, who died in 2007 and to whom the room is dedicated; donations of further material continue to be deposited. Volunteers help sort, catalogue and assist with the many enquiries which flow in. Browsers are welcome. Cowbridge Male Voice Choir 

Cowbridge Male Voice Choir (Cor Meibion y Bontfaen) was formed in 1971. In 1973 they appeared on television and in April 1974 sang before H.R.H. Princess Alexandra at the Royal Albert Hall, London, sharing the stage with Dame Vera Lynn and Larry Adler. In 1994 they appeared with Anneka Rice (CMVC President) in Challenge Anneka. No. 293 (Cowbridge) Squadron ATC

The squadrons Headquarters is in Cowbridge. We are the only Squadron to hold The Royal Humane Societies Citation on Vellum. This is the highest award that they make to a group of people. ABOUT THE CLUB

We have 4 floodlit courts and the all weather playing surface means that club activities run all year round.

We currently have 2 Ladies teams and a Mens team playing in the South Wales Summer Doubles League.

From October to March we run a Ladies and a Mixed team in the Winter Veterans League, as well as a Ladies team in the Cymru Kitchens Winter League.

Junior Tournaments include the National Club League and ‘Road To Wimbledon’ events, along with squad sessions and school holiday coaching camps.
Details of events and news are posted on the noticeboards throughout the year.
The Club is located next to the rugby club alongside Cowbridge Leisure Centre.

Cowbridge Town Twinning Association

The CTTA was established in 1991 as a Community Twinning Association with Municipal Support.  Cowbridge is twinned with the medieval town of Clisson near Nantes. There are annual exchange visits with Clisson and also many opportunities for informal contacts, many of which have led to lasting friendships. The association also holds several functions during each year that give the opportunity for members to meet and enjoy a social evening in Cowbridge

Vale Photographic Club

The Club draws members form Llantwit Major and across the Vale. Whitmore Bay Surf Life Saving Club is based at Barry Island. We train thoughout the year and patrol Whitmore Bay during the summer. We welcome any ages and any standards.
